The Young Aerospace Engineer Awards (YAEY), launched at Aerospace Testing 2009 are back for a second year due to popular demand. The Scientific and Technology and Innovation Awards recognise excellence in the Aerospace Test Engineers of the future.

Aerospace Testing 2010 is delighted to announce that we will be continuing our partnership with EUCASS, the European Conference for Aero Space Sciences.

. WHAT ARE THE AWARDS?


Scientific


Supported by Eucass, The Scientific Award recognises the most innovative project in the field of Aerospace research. The Scientific Award covers a broad domain including:

- System integration (Multi-Disciplinary Optimization, Fluid-Structure Interaction... )
- Flight Dynamics, Guidance, Navigation and Control
- Propulsion physics
- Flight physics


Young Engineer of the Year - Technology & Innovation


Created by Aerospace Testing, the Technology & Innovation Award recognises the best project in Aeronautic and Space Testing, Design & Manufacturing, rewarding an innovative and useful test or design project from Data Acquisition, Test Solution Software, Materials Testing, Design Engineering Components, etc.

. WHO CAN APPLY?


Participation can be either individual or collective:


Individual participation applies to European and Russian graduate and undergraduate students from Engineering Schools and Universities, whatever the level of studies. 

 Collective participation includes teams or associations from Universities and Engineer Schools as well as students currently studying in the same institution. A Project manager shall be identified.

A more detailed description of the eligibility of potential participants is given in Annex 1.

. PRIZE

The winner of each Award will receive a €1300 prize.

In addition, flight and accommodation for three nights will also be provided to the winners or a representative of the winning team if more than one person participated to the project.

. THE JURY

The jury will be composed of Aerospace Testing industry leaders and members of the EUCASS bureau.


The Jury of the Technology & Innovation and Scientific Awards is composed of a panel of 6 judges including 3 representatives of EUCASS and 3 representatives of Aerospace Testing who will examine and rank each project.

The Technology & Innovation and Scientific projects which received the highest marks from the judges will be presented at the Prize Giving ceremony in Hamburg on the 20st May 2010 by the respective prize winners.

 

.  SELECTION CRITERIA


The papers shall present an innovative idea in the field of Aerospace Technologies and Sciences, or detail a potential application of a recent and innovative advance in this domain.
The criteria for selection will be defined by the members of the jury, but will include originality, creativity, feasibility.
